Experience Gain in Nightmare
« on: Aug 26, 2009; 03:14 PM »
I was going over the threads and i saw many complaining on the nightmare system, i myself hate it somehow.

On thing that really bothers me is that you can only level up or gain descent experience when you are fighting monsters not above or below 3-4 levels away. I mean is you are lets say level 30 and the demon is level 28 below or 32 above you wont gain the full experience, and so in high levels you are level 37 and the monsters on that level are 45 !!! and you wont get anything unless you go to older levels and catch up.

what i wanted to ask was is to remove the Maximum cap and only put minimum cap. i mean if you are level 30 you will gain less experience with lower levels like 29 and 28 but the amount of experience is in full with those in higher, no matter even if you are at level 35 and the monsters are all level 50, you still get the full experience there.

This is something that keeps many players from advancing in Nightmare, mostly prefer to to create a new character rather than doing the nightmare.

I have run into this with my lvl 40 engineer (nightmare)  the only way to stay withing the correct range is to do each and EVERY quest or I end up fighting monsters 5 to 8 levels above.  I had a hell of a time with tower of london, until I went back and finished several minor quest i didnt realize I had missed before.  I was able to kill monsters 8 lvls above me with some difficulty, but they still died.  Just sucked that I didnt get any experience for the kills.

Yup.. that's it.
When I play my Marksman on SP (now level 50) the only way i could sweet talk myself to progressing was to use a trainer and give myself an extra 3 levels taking me back in the range.
And it's not just an XP range.. it affects damage and shields and a lot of stuff.  I don't wanna spend 10 seconds blasting at a summoners zombie.. expecially when there's 20 of em running at me and more all the time... till I multi-strike.
