Blood and Gore
« on: Aug 17, 2009; 09:39 AM »
is there anyway to add more blood and gore to the game, as we all know this was one of the reasons why hellgate fell. i guess we just have to increase the texture intensity.

so is there anything like this for revival, coz i guess it will increase the popularity 10 times more than usual. many left the game because of the dead feeling. you kill . . . they fall . . . like dolls, nothing that gives you the realistic feeling.

the blood mod should truly Revive Hellgate London.

Of coarse, there will be lots of gibs and blood particles in Revival ;) I don't think we can do much for single player though.

He means the non-revival single player. Normal Hellgate london, he is saying that it would be a bit difficult to change that. :P

Revival is being written from scratch on a different game engine.

Just out of cureocity<- I think I spelt it wrong but anyway what engine did they use for hellgate cause it almost sounds like it was unique to that game and no other

I "think" you're correct and FSS build the game engine from scratch rather than use anything going. This also does not help anyone trying to mod the game either... ;)

It was also used as the game engine for Mythos, which started as a test for the code and became a game... :D

I now see why the Revival team is porting the game to a new engine it beats the hell out of sorting FSS mess of an engine.

As for the blood n Gore I know there's a bit of it in the game but hey if theres more coming im game

Flagship made their own game engine called Prime. It was built using powerful commercial libraries such as Havok & Granny2. It is true Mythos utilized the Prime engine too. ;)
