New Feature - Fatigue System

- In order to reward players who do not have as much time to play, a new system has been put in place. This "Fatigue System" works as follows:

* A green gauge has been placed in the bottom right hand corner of the screen.

    - When you first connect to the game, the gauge will be at 100%. The gauge will deplete only when you spend time in dungeons. Stations and non-combat zones will not effect the gauge.
     - The gauge will fully deplete after 5 hours. It will be reset to 100% for every player on the server at 4:00 AM every day.

* The gauge will provide the following buffs in accordance with how full it is:

   - 100% - 50%: 30% experience buff
   - 49% - 1%: 20% experience buff
   - 0%: No buff

Chat Macro Improvements:

- Chat macro templates will not use /total, /party, /guild and /gwit as non-chat commands.
- Chat macros can now hold a maximum of 19 Hanguil characters or 38 English characters

Starting Area Improvements:

- A new tutorial has been added to the training grounds.
- The starting area quests have been modified:

* New Hampton Street:
   - Area size has been reduced to be less time consuming.
   - Number of monsters to kill has been reduced from 35 to 25.

* Russel Square:
   - Russel Square has been reduced in size to be less time consuming.

* Tottenham Court:
   - Area size has been reduced in size.
   - Quest NPC displacement has been changed so that they are closer together.

Other Changes & Additions:

- Flashback Quest NPCs will now wear costumes to differentiate themselves from other NPCs.
- The font size for characters in the chat UI have been slightly increased so that they are easier to read.
- The font size for characters in the Guild UI have also been slightly increased.

Bug Fixes:

- Flashback quest items were not disappearing upon quest completion; this has been corrected.

Cheat Shop Updates:

- The following items will be on sale until 11/25:

 * x5 Nanoforge Enhancement Preservatives
 * Reaper Pet
 * Shulgoth Pet

- The following items have been temporarily discontinued:

  * Item socket drill

Special Note About Major Class and Experience Re-Balance Update:

- The patch for this week was supposed to contain a substantial update for all classes as well as re-scaling of the leveling and experience requirements. We feel that the work on this portion of the game still needs a little more time.

- Thus, the update has been postponed until, at earliest, next week. We apologize for the delay and hope to get this update out to you as soon as possible.

Don't know if I'd like the idea of having an (albeit dependent) exp buff for free or if I'd dislike the idea of having an extra bar to fear/look out for/<insert verb here>...
Plus I hardly think they'd give away a buff others pay for without giving the "hardcore" (aka paying-their-behinds-off) players a reason to still pay.So I'm kinda skeptical on how they may've tweaked the overall exp gain and/or scaling in favor of the new feature  :?

Can't say I'm displeased with the rest of the updates and stuff though...
So,when do you guys think the rest of the poor Hellgaters' world will get to try those flashy things out?Since we've,you know,still seen less than a satisfying announcement that may concern us and everything  :mrgreen:

The above guides may be obsolete for vanilla SP, but they may still hold true for the 2018 Steam version.

Well for one the 'hardcore' players that you mentioned would get an additional xp buff as well as having the new xp boost in place (if they bought the cheat shops xp buff items) Also, I highly doubt that they would have tweaked the xp since the purpose of the xp boost is to get more casual players levels faster so that they can experience the end game content.

The only thing I know about the EXP scale that's for certain is that they're trying to make it less demanding. They're apparently implementing the changes made based off of the Japanese beta feedback on the Korean server as well. It's almost as if they're trying to get away from the "grind fest" model... a little bit. Still, I cannot imagine they are going to make all of the changes in the Japanese version to the Korean version. The Japanese version apparently will be using a somewhat different cost structure due to the fact that the Korean model is not conducive to the Japanese market.

Ultimately though, the EXP buff is there for those who do not want to pay a dime. That's why it is so small in comparison to the EXP potions (which can go as high as 50% or 200%, depending on what's being offered for weekly deals). Also, the EXP buff is small compared to the 100% passive EXP buff that PC Arcade subscribers get all the time.

It's also a slight deterrent towards Korean players who have the unhealthy habit of playing the game in PC Arcades for very LONG amounts of time. It will serve as a slight "wake up" call to those who have been playing for 5+ hours on end per session.

 Korean PC Arcade players have some notoriety for playing games for, sometimes, days on end and they end up dying due to not having any water or food.

That they are tailoring the game to different markets is a very good sign for us. I hope they make good decisions.

I personally am not a fan of any sort of experience nerfing on general principle. That being said though if I am actually playing HG over 5 hours a day I suppose it is not unreasonable to try to get me to take a break and go do something in real life.

And like Zart I find their modification based on their player base a hopeful sign. Come on first quarter 2011!

North Korea shells Hanbit?

Someone said on another forum that due to N Korean shelling the Aion servers were down. What would we do to Kim Jong Il if he destroyed our ability to play MP in the future? Personally, I would put a pillow over his face.

There's no way I would let you give him such an easy way out. I'm thinking more along the lines of a cactus bath.

Im all for strapping him to a bed then putting a sheet of metal with very small holes in it over his body then pouring battery acid on it so it drips on his body (very slowly). >.>

Pop? What pop?
You said you worked magic on me to do away with all the popping.
There should\'nt be any popping.
There\'s protective magic! You said so! Make it protect!

Cthulhu would ingest him into his gullet of infinite agony. Cthulhu emphasizes that it is a never ending abyss of the utmost, beautiful, never ending full body and mind evisceration. Cthulhu also would like to point out that it surpasses the conscious thoughts of horror that which any human can conceive.

I thought I would let you know what we are up against.

A sophisticated message from Great Leader himself.

N Korea are clearly the leaders in old missile launcher stock footage.

Anybody got news on the Hellgate beta in Japan? I haven't heard anything for so long, and there is zero news on the web about it (that doesn't need translating anyway).
