A question...
« on: Sep 28, 2009; 02:45 AM »
I'm not certain that the pre-release revival patch that I downloaded and installed actually took in my Hellgate game.  Is there some surefire way of being able to check if i did everything right?  Ran the Hglzap file as instructed...but the vendors don't seen to sell any legendary items as the patch notes say and my inventory space seems very small.  Sorry for the dumb question guys.

A sure fire way to tell is if the loading screen has changed.
Make sure everything is in the correct folder structure.
If the files are in the correct places, and since you've played it, and it doesn't appear to work, run hglzap again, and see if that fixes it.

If it didn't work right, or just in case, you could use this:
http://http://119.148.72.35/forum_x/viewtopic.php?f=47&t=70&sid=dca204c8fc64ac9c2eb4f9b04ddd3438
In my second post, the "Hellgate Revival files 1.2" file, that is an easy installer which does everything for you. ;)
All you have to do is download and click..

the new loading screen has http://www.hellgateaus.info in the upper left hand corner

also, check to see if you have more inventory/stash. click on the personal inventory and scroll down. there should be 2x as much

What a great community...  Thanks very very much guys.  FYI dawe1313 that link you provided does not work when I click on it but perhaps you meant that the link itself should be on the loading screen.  It is not.  All I see is the usual red loading screen briefly as the game loads in.

Thanks a bunch Norak for your installer!  I ran it and this is the message that came up.  The only thing that concerns me is the bottom portion...do I need to create some kind of "mod" files as it is suggesting??

Thanks again!

that's the address of the revival forums you are currently viewing. :)  it wasn't intended to be a link. the revival guys put a new loading screen in. the one that comes up in game when you go from one area to another, i.e. entering/leaving a station. the new loading screen is branded with the web address in the upper right hand corner.

You need to check that the mod files were put where they're supposed to be.
Look in your Hellgate London install directory, and see if there's these folders:
Databackground
Dataexcel
Datauix
Data_commonexcel

Loading screen definitely does not have the web address on it.

Malachor I checked if the mod files are there and they are not!  Even though the install path for the Revival SP installer pointed in the right direction.  I am running Vista 64 bit and the install path is "C:Program FilesFlagship StudiosHellgate London" on the installer.  After it runs those mod files are still not there....what the hell...pun intended...

ok. have you checked in program files (x86) just in case?
If not, you'll have to either rerun Norak's installer, and hope it works, or open the previous download, and manually extract them to the right folders. Then run hglzap.

Definitely not in the x86 location.  Rerunning Nanak's installer did not work either...here goes the hard way, I'll post back about the results when done.

I ran the installer on this 64-bit Win7, it worked just fine..Hmm.
Does anyone else have a similar problem with the installer?

Did everything as listed including putting the needed file folders into the requested places and moving the necessary files over.  In the end I got this log message and still no web address in the loading screen.

I think this is the problem. I remember seeing them with official patch 0.6, and 1.2 removed them. Maybe there's a problem with your 1.2 patch version.
Looking here: viewtopic.php?f=9&t=449
An earlier post; it seems the best way, is to reinstall hgl, then apply just the 1.2 patch, then revival patch.

It would seem the error lay more on my end....I misread how to setup the folder structure (my excuse is that I am tired and I am sticking by it...)  I meticulously re-did the folder creation step by step and ran Norak's installer afterward.  Loaded up the game and voila, changed loading screen and my inventory is waaaaay bigger as well as my storage inventory so I can assume that it worked now!!!

Sorry guys it seems it was my fault after all.
