From what I understood, players were buying it to block it to sell it again
Well kind of. The game blocked identified items from being traded, so players had to buy sigils to unbind them and make them tradeable. A lovely way to make some money from endgame players.
If someone for this game ever does LAN, where to get these sigils to block an item and pass it to another character?
That's a good question. I really don't remember if they made sigils available in-game in any way - they used to be cash shop items like preservatives. I've seen such items being available in vendors, but since you're looking for them I don't suppose they're there.
Of course, that's all hypothetical anyway. If it's any consolation,
London 2038 has been up and running for years as an MP version of the game, and has no such dubious items to worry about.
I have one more question: package 2.0 takes 1.3GB, what's in it and is it necessary to install Revival mod?
The MP 2.0 patch contains SH data, such as weapons and models. By itself it's mostly useless, but many mods make use of its data. Revival should also use it, but you'd need to consult each mod's instructions to be sure.
Revival 4.3 does state it needs both 1.2 SP and 2.0 MP, for example.
