you need 2 specific things before you can open reanimator.

You need java  a programming language.. Its an easy download. Then to open up reanimator.... do the following.  Also working knowledge of the command prompt.

1# open up the reanimator rar and extract to hg:l or your default hg:l directory.
2# navigate to the dist folder and you will see a *reanimator.jar* file
3# open up command prompt using accessories from the windows start button
4# bring the directory to the same path you have previously opened up
5# if you have java then reanimator will open up if you type the following
6# "java -jar reanimator.jar"

E.g. My installation path and use
C:Program filesflagship studioshellgatedist

While steps 1 and 2 aren't necessary for opening up reanimator... Any files you modify or create will be saved in the folder.  It also helps you understand the path

If anyone else has any questions Feel free to ask.

You're better off clicking on "Excel", not "File" mrdefender.

Also, regarding step 3 Harrowing, I have no trouble double-clicking on the .jar file, like a normal windows application.

Malachor... my instructions are windows os system independent.. All windows os can run it in this format from command line prompts..  Those familer with a very old DOS os will have no propblem with it...

Double-clicking on it does *not* work on all os//windows systems regardless of installed//updated java...  just to clarify.

you don't open any file. go to excel and there is a list of all the different stuff you can change.

Open Reanimator, got to excel > game globals (Your Editing The gameglobals.txt.cooked File). Make changes & then when finished got to File > Save. A new modded  gameglobals.txt.cooked file well be in the area where you started reanimator.

To add a mod to a game use a mod package. i add one in my post you can use as a start. the file you edit will have to be added to the right spot on the mod.zip. the easy way to figure out where it belongs is look in the reanimator folder for where the file orginal is located & place the modded file on the mod.zip in that area.

If you want to modify an existing file, copy it to the same directory as the reanimator.jar file.

This is true. Open and Save functionality are really basic and undocumented because it was designed just good enough to allow me to finish the development. More intuitive controls will be developed in the future to assist your modding needs!

No, it's not just you, I've just noticed this as well. Copying the modified file into the data_commonexcel folder doesn't work either.
So we'll have to fix this.
