Wishing to edit certain weapons.
« on: Feb 19, 2013; 09:21 AM »
Basically I'm playing the Nagahaku3.0b mod
I have made a couple of alterations eg. adding the expandable storage option from revival1.5 to nagahaku
and have been using the save files from 'Ultimate items collection' by Contra.

Anyway, I am currently trying to edit 'Hu's Hypershot' machine pistol
What i'd like to do most is add some more mod slots, however i have not been having much luck as the changes i make don't seem to be showing ingame (except for an increase in critical chance that i increased by 50%.....)
Considering i have also tried changing rate of fire (cdticks) and base damage as well as add enough mod slots (8) then it seems i am missing something.

Also could the reason i have had no luck with the changes be that the weapons were already in inventory when i made the changes? Would i therefore need to wait until i pick one up in course of gameplay?
So if someone could help i'd appreciate it.

P.S. Wish i knew of these mods sooner, many thanks to their makers.

Weapon models have a certain number of mod slots, so increasing them beyond their normal maximum by editing the normal way isn't possible.
And although there is another way(it involves editing the last column called Stats), they appear in the same position as the normal mods(from what I remember anyway). And I don't remember what was needed to change in the Stats column for the extra mods.

It involves altering via item tables the type of mod slots that can spawn on any given item, such as getting focus items to spawn with tech mod slots.  Secondly Malchor is right about the maximum # of slots.  The sadly is currently hard coded.  But with the item tables you can basically make any gun you deem fit uber powerful (or any other item)

Such as you have already done, changing the fire rate, base crit chance, crit damage, spawning damage, etc all adjustable. all potentially game breaking if you exceed maximum's from hgl limitations.  So read up on the max's that can cause crashing to occur (or item deletion).

Ok thanks for all that I suppose I'll just try things a bit at a time through good ol' Trial and error and backups.
