I'm using Cheat Engine because I'm on Win7 pro 64

Can anybody help me out on how to find the correct string of hex like

00 00 40 24 22 51 00 00

and replace it with another value

EDIT: I figured it out.  For those who want to edit in Windows 7 64 bit:
Open HGL and press "esc" on your character
In Cheat Engine,
open the hellgate process
"view memory" (button on left middle)
search for the string in question
When you find the correct line, edit the numbers to the desired result (I typed over the remainder of the line, until it went on to the next line, just to be sure)
Leave Cheat Engine running
Switch back to HGL and without going back into the game, save/exit.
When you log back in the changes will be in effect.

Im having an Issue Modding crafting components..  Ive done it before, but maybe im doing something different?..  or maybe its different since I installed the revival patch?..

I use HxD..  Ctrl+R    Search for 00 00 C0 49 xx 00 00 00 00 00 00 4A yy 00 00 00   now components stack in 5000 (1388 in Hex)  and I have stacks of 1 and 2 of each component..

so the string is 00 00 C0 49 88 13 00 00 00 00 00 4A 01 00 00 00   right?..  and I change it to   00 00 C0 49 88 13 00 00 00 00 00 4A 88 13 00 00   when I hit change all, I get an error saying none found..  help?

They look correct, have you chosen the correct datatype, ie. hex value?

Yea, I had Hex selected.   not sure why..  but that code does not work if your patched to the revival 1.1.0   I reverted my game back to normal 1.2 and it worked again..  weird..  though I couldnt Mod any of the stacks i made while useing the 1.1.0 so I threw those away and started over..

Making a ton of components on each of my toons, then Ill reinstall the revival..  its a long way around..  but I just dont know enough to figure it out yet..  lol

Ah ha, I think the scrap stack size has been changed to 10,000, from 5,000. Which would explain why you couldn't find them.

Ahhh  ..  that would make sence..  lol.   I tried to find patch notes to see if that was the case before I posted, but could only find listings for increased head stacks to 10 and consumables to 50.  didnt make sence why they wouldnt increase those as well..  Ill try the 10,000 stack this round, I may end up with more components than I know what to do with..  lol

When attempting to hex a base white Arclite Fusion rifle into something like its unique big brother,
It might help to have examples of strings that the game is likely to accept.

This is the data block for a Lee’s with the maximum 6 slots.
(The next problem will be hexing up dual line relics to go in it.)

I'm using win 7 x64 so i have to use cheat engine 5.5. I messed around found the addresses for each character stat.

07c8f308
07c8f314    Accuracy
3e6cf5bc

07d66528
07d66534   Strength

07c9d6b8
07c9d6c4
0dd92a44   Stam

07ca4878
07ca4884
0dd2ef1c
3e6cf24c    Will

I changed the value at each address to 99. Here are the results:

I just think - CHILDREN SHALL BE CLEAVED AND RIVEN IN THE WAKE OF ETERNAL PLUMES OF MISERY THAT BLANKET THE LAND WITH THE BLOOD OF LIFE BEFOULED BY THE SIN OF BIRTH AND THE RAPE OF WORLDS

combination question and statement
I've been lucky I guess because I have yet to lose a character or an item.
In examining items I have hexed and then nano'ed I've noticed that the properties that are inherent with the item, if augmented seem to multiply with nano'ing, others do not.

example: 2 swords of the same type and dmg have 10-20 phys dmg
to one sword phys dmg is increased by 50% using the code that increases dmg it already has; to the other fire dmg is increased by 50% using the code that adds a damage type to it.

After nano'ing the base dmg amount of the first sword is increased, however the second is not.

Using the white to yellow hex change as described in the tutorial, I created a legendary Wart's Pegleg. It comes with 2400 stun strength, I then added fire damage and ignite strength. (If makes a great sword for throwing, 30% of the time whatever it hits is turned to ash; I use it with a Mr. Claw   or Nova gun)
I didn't nano till Oxford Circus station, at that point I nano'ed it either 3 or 4 times. (just for info, the pegleg doesn't take any nano shards to increase dmg) afterwards the stun attack strength increased to 5400 but the ignite strength remained the same.

So I am assuming the nano's only increase the damage that is inherent to the original item and that all augments and items added remain the same. Am I following this correctly or misinterpreting what's going on.

question
can and how do you change the base min/max dmg of an item

I know it's probably simple, but I'm simpler I guess, cause nothing I'm doing is changing it.

Look for, and change:
Min dam: 00 00 40 0c 00 xx 00 00
Max dam: 00 00 80 0c 00 xx 00 00
where xx is the value you see in game.
