Title: how to write install.XML?
Post by: Violet-n-Red on Jan 25, 2017; 10:37 AM
i want to use my posters mod with Nagahaku mod, but two of those uses different installers and this is what happens: if i install posters first with older installer/launcher, then installing Nagahaku mod somehow disables them. if i install Nagahaku mod first, then i cannot install posters at all - old installer gives "sanity check error" and refuses to proceed.

so i thought i will have to write an install.XML file for the new launcher, but it seems like it doesn't work in the same way as modinfo.ini.

You're right, it doesn't. It gives more control over what can be done.
For what you want, this is what I'd suggest.
To make it easier to keep track of, have a mods folder, then place this directory structure in it: PosterMod\data\background\_advertisements then place your posters there.
Now the install.xml file.
Place the one I've uploaded(also have a look at it, you can change the description lines and title as you see fit) in the PosterMod folder, with the data folder.
Then zip the data folder and the install.xml file, name it PosterMod, or whatever you want, then use the new launcher to install it.
It has been a while since I've looked into this so don't hesitate to ask questions, or post problems.

nevermind - found how to add those by looking at Nagahaku mod.
