Unofficial Revival SP modification 3.2
« on: Feb 13, 2018; 11:26 PM »
Welcome to "Unofficial Revival" patch version 3.2

"My heart stays in Hellgate."
                            Kikina the templar

If you like Hellgate and want to remember a bit of old times, this mod is the best solution for you. Contains elements from many versions of the game, while maintaining the original gameplay.
Mod retains original skills, quests and monsters, but adds some things from early game concept (for example using implants), original online game (pets, dye kits, events..), game from test servers (new weapons, rings, many types of monsters), korean Hellgate Global (bosses, weapons) and ideas of members the Hellgateaus community (expanded stash, better monsters info, cheats..).

Important ! All attachments on this forum is visible only if you are registered user and logged in.

Development of official Revival mod from Hellgateaus community it was completed by version 1.5b2.
Unofficial Revival mod (v1.6 and up) is extension of this mod - whole content of official revival is included,
lots of errors has been fixed and some things were added.

Mod can be installed through "Revival 1.5b1 launcher".
You need:
 - installed game client Hellgate London from original disc or iso image (supported languages is english and czech)
 - installed 1.2 SP and 2.0 MP (TCv4) patches (its necessary run both clients (SinglePlayer and MultiPlayer) once after installation of patches)
Unpack the launcher to any location, start "launcher.exe", go to utilities section and choose "modifications - install".
On select screen load "revival un 3.2 .mod.zip". Do not unpack mod before installation !
For more information take look on topic "The "new" launcher (for Revival 1.5 and up)" from Bryan or "Revival 1.5b2 SP Modification" from Malachor.

Installation of Revival mod automatically revert all before installed mods.

This patch is based on Revival version 3.1, all characters from foregoing versions is (theoretically) compatible, but is strongly recommended to backup your save games before instalation.
If you want load to this version character from version 1.9 or lower, then its necessary before installing remove all mythic and double edged items from character and all weapons from weapon slots to backpack.
After instalation you can return it back.

3.2 Patch Notes
---------------

- all stonehenge helmets was implemented into game. Can spawn in all qualities (including unique) in game and at merchants too:
Dread mask, Dire Cowl, unique Dire Cowl "Veiled Threat" for cabalists
NavShell, Blast Helm, unique Blast Helm "Eyes of the Maverick" for hunters
Spiked Guard, Tower Helm, unique Tower Helm "Face of the Crusader" for templars
MK1 type can spawn from lv 15, MK2 + uniques from lv 48. Uniques no have fixed itemlevel.
Moloch now have exclusive 20% chance on kill to drop one from three unique versions (random, no class restriction)

- all Stonehenge/Abyss champions in game now have chance on drop new type of implant. It is about forbidden nanotechnology :-)
There are five different types, 20% chance on drop while kill champion.
Champions: Lord Issrilvor, Brobdingnagian and Agress in Old Crypt
Lord Teveren and Bartok in Southwark bridge
Lord Niriul and Zarathon in Collapsed tunnel

- lord Puppy in Aldwych now can drop one new community item (goggles)

- boss Rashaverak in Southwark bridge level now can drop one new item for cabalists - focus "Glyph-Cage". Item is not exactly same like in Hellgate Global, but very similar

- as a side effect of using TCv4 player models is now posible use ingame emotes. It is clear that it is difficult to show emotions to other players in SP mode, but you can use it for nice screenshots..
Emotes is triggered by entering the command in the chat. Here is complete list:
    /wave, /beg, /bow, /cheer, /chicken, /cry, /flex, /kiss, /laugh, /no, /point, /salute, /stop, /taunt
Animation for hunter command /bow does really strange things with weapons in hands, but this is original TCv4 bug  ;D

- Gleamcarvers and Dissectors now have animated swing, negatrons and vigilantes makes sound while firing (thanks to Nagahaku for this tricks)

- new install option was added - Goggles hotfix. On some graphic cards goggles not work, its old bug from original game. If you find that your goggles (first time is used in Aldwych level) do not emitting light, first try switch game to DX9. Then make sure the "shader quality" is not set to "low". On low quality is goggles disabled. If they still do not work, then reinstal mod with this option enabled. Button working like a light switch for pitch-black levels

- Zombot, if is summoned, have AT LAST portrait in icon on screen !

- essences is now examinable

- one loading tip was updated

- for modders: finally, i managed to eliminate all the errors from the original revival that made it impossible to edit the tables "items" and "affixes" in the reanimator. Both tables is now possible correctly save, without reanimator reporting error

According to version 3.1, the change of character models seems to have occurred (surprisingly  ;) )without major problems. So, here are the promised helmets and a few other changes. Perhaps everything will work, at worst it is always possible to go back to v3.0, which proved to be very stable..

Huh, I've only just registered to get it and there's a new release of the mod already. Convenient.
Thank you for your hard work, for keeping this great game alive after all these years!
I've tried to play Hellgate years ago, liked its gameplay and loved its design, but the game had crashed regularly after a hour or so of the playtime, despite both patches and the most recent drivers being installed. I mean to ask: had this mod or it predecessors fixed the problem or was that something inherent to the engine, or something along these lines? My current setup is Win7.32, 4GB RAM on a desktop put together from adequate but spare, and therefore likely to be problematic with game that has compatibility issues, parts.

Hello.
All mod changes is only apply to game data, not to game engine.
I also playing on Win7 and game actually crashes occasionally, mainly on DX10.
Unfortunately, nothing can be done with it..
In online version of game (Project Hellgate 2038), the developers have made some changes in core program that make the game more stable. But even there did not stop crashes completely..

Thanks for the prompt response. Oh, and while I'm pestering you with question that you've been annoyed by time and again, probably, have you fixed the Blood Moon or cut that achievement out? I vaguely remember being driven up the wall by not being able to find it.

In mod is this archievment disabled. Bloodmoon event was deleted from game by original developers in SP 1.2 patch. I found in data some residues of this event, but I thought that restoring it would be too laborious..

Good. Thanks again!
Whew, installation finished, time to play. Here's hoping that game won't crash if I play it on Dx9 and restart it every station.

Kikina - is there any possibility of those core changes being ported or added to the single player HG?

Or is that just too detailed and horrible a task to contemplate?

(NB, NOT complaining if it is so. You guys /gals here have done SUCH an amazing job of keeping HG alive for us)

Also - sorry for such a dumb question - it has been a while since I used Revival (I play Nagahaku at the moment)..

Do I need the "official" revival then this "unofficial" or is it just "install the unofficial"?

Yah, I know, stupid me... but I just can't remember.

-- better stability of core program - I personally cant make these changes at this time, i do not know how. This knowledge has only developers of "Hellgate 2038" project, and those, if talk about it, make it clear that both projects are totally separate from each other. Even within the project 2038, the SP was moved to the last place, after stability and gameplay of online version. Although i try to help them, i do not dare to bother them with singleplayer. The best idea about the status of work on online game you can get on the Discord chat server "London 2038".

-- official and unofficial - just install the unofficial. It's just a name change, version numbers are continuously linked to each other, unofficial is actually only a higher version of original version. The name i changed just to mark the place where the hellgateaus community's work ended and follow my brazen changes. Today I think it's probably not the best deal, but it's happened ...    ???

Direct spawn of items is not possible.
You must make new entry to table "treasures" and then new treasure assign to something in game (loot from monster, cube recipe, quest reward...)
I remind again that table "treasures" is editable in Reanimator, but while recooking is emerging error causing "only palladium from chests" bug.

Thanks, mate.

I can see their point, they are concentrating on the Mp side of things.

And your decision was likely right - the naming did mark a spot of "official to unofficial".

Items transfer - In earlier versions, it was possible to use a Reanimator to convert things from character to character in a cube. On forum is some topic about that. In current version of Revival this function only reports errors..   :o

A shame, if so. Kikina, can we expect items transfer fix somewhere in the future? No pressure.
Also, where does the game keep statistics? I'm mostly interested in times killed, time passed, but comprehensive list would be nice too.

This function is a part of Reanimator, so unfortunatelly i can not do anything with it.
If you want to find out the time played with each character, type to game chat command /played.
Adding other similar features is not possible for me..
