Welcome to unofficial Revival patch version 2.3

Important ! All attachments on this forum is visible only if you are registered user and logged in.

Development of official Revival mod from Hellgateaus community it was completed by version 1.5b2.
Unofficial Revival mod (v1.6 - v2.3) is extension of this mod - whole content of official revival is included,
lots of errors has been fixed and some things were added.

Mod can be installed through "Revival 1.5b1 launcher".

You need:
 - installed game client Hellgate London from original disc or iso image (supported languages is english and czech)
 - installed 1.2 SP and 2.0 MP (TCv4) patches (its necessary run both clients (SinglePlayer and MultiPlayer) once after installation of patches)

Unpack the launcher to any location, start "launcher.exe", go to utilities section and choose "modifications - install".
On select screen load "revival un 2.3 .mod.zip". Do not unpack mod before installation !
For more information take look on topic "The "new" launcher (for Revival 1.5 and up)" from Bryan or "Revival 1.5b2 SP Modification" from Malachor.

Installation of Revival mod automatically revert all before installed mods.

This patch is based on Revival version 2.1 and 2.2beta, all characters from foregoing versions is
(theoretically) compatible, but is strongly recommended to backup your save games before instalation.
If you want load to this version character from version 1.9 or lower, then its necessary before installing remove all mythic and double edged items from character and all weapons from weapon slots to backpack.
After instalation you can return it back.

Update 19.04.2017 - We found that problems with "item stats text offset" have only some players (info in topic http://www.hellgateaus.info/forum/hellgate-london-modification-discussion/revival-item-stats-text-offset/msg57239/?topicseen#new (http://www.hellgateaus.info/forum/hellgate-london-modification-discussion/revival-item-stats-text-offset/msg57239/?topicseen#new))
We do not know why yet. If you have same problem, download Un 2.31 mod from abovementioned link.

hi there

thx for releasing 2.3 ^^



i have a little problem - i installed the game with SP 1.2 / MP 2.0 - started the game in SP / MP both ... installed the mod 2.3 - but i have the problem i cannt use elite mode ... i copied old character in savegame folder for beeing able to aktivate elite mode in at character creation .... but after starting ingame at the character panel the shield symbol is missing what normally displayed at the right side beside your characters name ...

how to be sure that elite mode is active ? do i something missing ?

You are converted into new installation whole savegame folder or only character files ?
If only character files, try old trick - create one normal character and log with it into game.
Then try make elite character - it should work..

is there a complete list of ALL features your mod provide ???

Yeah, ranks is not available. But at least you can  reach lv 55.
Complete patch list do not exist. Changes i've done is in patch notes attached to mod, changes from original revival is partially written in text on mod install menu. Neither i dont know all changes..

one last question ... if i install your mod and use the modifer increase movespeed 100 - all chars have 100% more run speed ... when i reinstall later and reinstall your mod without the speed modifer will have all my saved chars have further the 100% or is it not save dependend ? so after reinstalling without the modifer all saved chars have again normal run speed ???

Increase movespeed is function from original revival and i never dealt with it.
But i presume that this value is not saved to the position.

Hello!

Firstly I want to start off and say thank you for the SP mods and keeping it updated and fresh! I am having a blast while I await the awesomeness known as Hellgate: 2038.

Only one kinda noob/weakling question...

MOLOCH (the greatest calamity of Ancient Blood...)
I was so happy he was included, never seeing him before due to only SP Hellgate. But that sort of changed quite quickly after trying to kill the guy.
He is INSANE!!! And AWESOME all at once but I just wondered why make his spawn chance 4/5.
Now I try and avoid him for as long as possible and quickly murder everything I can before he sees me.

Any chance making the spawn rate less? ???

Hello  :)

In fact, Moloch spawn rate is not 4/5, but 100%
During the testing mod i looked into spawn tables, it seems odd that occurs so often. This setting is from original revival..
Moloch has the same properties like in online game and it is really hard to kill him at low character levels. But, after you get good gear, ceases to pose a problem for you.
If you want kill him now, use little trick - find hellrift in area, where monsters is on approx five levels under your character level. Moloch will be, compared to you, much weaker.

Shared stash i could not put into operation and tranfer into reanimator does not work on save games from revival 1.5b or higher..

Hi.

Really enjoying this mod! Just one minor question:

I have DX10 enabled but my anti aliasing only goes to medium, the other options are missing?
I did try and do the launcher thing forcing DX10 but that is also missing(maybe just in previous launcher?)
Anyway, it isn't game breaking or anything but if there is a way to fix it I would very much appreciate some help.

With this i will unfortunately can not help. Graphic settings is not affected with mod, but directly gameclient. I consider that i have read somewhere on forum about a similar problem..

What's the best way to add a new language to the mod?
I've installed this one on my French copy and it's working pretty fine. Apart from the "missing strings" on the new items.

In order to fix this issue, I extracted the mod.zip file, duplicated the "english" folder, edited the xls.uni file with a text editor, replaced all the "english" strings with "french", cooked the new file with the hellgate executable provided with the latest revision of Reanimator, zipped everything and installed the mod.

It's working fine, but the game now crashes upon exit. Not that big of a deal, though since it's not crashing with the original mod, I was wondering what I was doing wrong here.
I tried Reanimator, but I don't know how to use that tool.

That's because you're playing a non-English version of the game.
Custom content has to be translated or you'll see those "missing string" lines.

(set english language while installing).

marmot -  Hard to tell where the problem may be. I can think of several possibilities:

 - try again go through the entire text and check special characters between words. These characters are the format of table
   for hellpack and one mistake can cause a lot of problems..

 - its should keep in mind, so Hellpack have a critical error - making random mistakes in cooked file, depending of the lenght file.
   If the resulting file has some errors (totally random), proved to me add or subtract a few characters at different location in
   the file. With luck, can then be resulting file fine..
 
 - problems can also cause incompatibility between file format of each language and correct location of file with strings.
   I do not know exactly how proceed you, but this is the correct procedure:
   Files in "data/excel/strings/english" should in any case remain unchanged.In "data/excel/strings" make new folder named "french"
   and you new file "strings_revival.xls.uni.cooked" put into it.This process has the added benefit - if core program not found
   some description, instead "missing string no. --" displays corresponding string in english language.
   (Note: In "english" folder just be edited file "strings_revival.xls.uni", to convert to a "cooked" format occurs automatically
    while each installation of mod. In folders for other languages you must do it manually through Hellpack.)
   Into you new file you must change not only strings, but also all specification of language in each row.

Hello!

I have another question, sorry if this was answered before? The new Abyss content in game looks awesome and I cant wait to see everything
BUT for some reasons lots of the sounds are missing when using them, for example when I fire one of the new pistols.

Is this a problem on my side or is this something that has not been fixed or can it even be fixed.

Just for the record, I still enjoy this mod extremely and no nothing about mods or coding or programming. So excuse my ignorance :0)

In souds catalog its only sounds from original game.
New sounds cannot be installed into mod, due to error in Reanimator..

Ok i tryed some Changes
-replace Default with my Language
-adding new lines with plural/singular

But it doesnt accept my changes, it shows me missing string index.

Well i think i need looking in my own files and seek for the corectly wrote of lines.
So someone can tell me the file which contains names etc and how i can read it(which programm).
Or maybe someone can write 1-2 correct lines from a standard item(exp. first weapon from a Hunter), that would be fine tho.
 

Ps: i never said all the standard items/text has the right name. only the item/-names by adding from mod got these errors. my Game Still work fine.

I'm afraid that really there is no easy way to create additional language mutation to mod, because Reanimator only supports work with english strings.
I think so you can always try a simple replace all english text in file data/excel/strings/english/strings_revival.xls.uni for equivalents in other language, without changes in line specifications. Translation will be of course not correct in the context of another text, but disappear most annoying "missing strigs".
If you want to make a correct version for another language, is there only one option. Install Reanimator and open Hellgate database.
In table "View" click on option "File explorer". In file selector open "data/excel/strings/folder with required language".
Mark whole folder and click on "Extract to" on the left side of screen. Set path for extracting, on table "Keep directory structure" click on "no".
By this procedure you get all files with strings from original game, but in "cooked" (packed) state.Hellpack reject uncook this files, at least i do not know how to force him to do. Try open this files in some hexa editor, or in text editor (notepad) and  try figure correct format for new language file..

peeps, who can provide some screenshots of areas added by Kikina? i'd really like to see how they look, the names sounds intriguing :d also would like to know if old crypt is just one area or a multistage dungeon.

Hello,

I have run into two "bugs".

1. Necro Essences have no icon for me
2. I got a plain blueprint labled "[Item] Blueprint" and has no flavortext, properties or recipe.

Are these known or normal things or am I running into a problem here ?

Using a clean and fresh install, no other mods used.

Similar errors occur to me while installing mod on my old notebook with windows XP. But, if there i
install mod multiple times, finally it's okay..

Ok nach deinstallieren von hgl hast du den sp 1.2 Patch installiert oder? Und einmal ins Spiel einloggen also Charakter erstellen und dann den mp 2.0 Patch installieren. Und dann erst den modernen hinzufügen.

Am besten tust du erstmal revers Mods  im launcher. Falls du schon alles gepachtet hast würde ich dir empfehlen den modernen neu runterzuladen.

Es kann sein das manchmal der launcher auch spinnt. Hatte ich auch.

Und wenn du eine deutsche Version des Spiels hast werden dir bestimmte items mit Mission stringent angezeigt. Aber dafür hätte ich dann auch eine Lösung.

 Hello Dear Hellgateaus,

Firstly I'd like to say A GREAT THX for all work you made and for the work in progress to bring Hellgate multiplayer back. I love this game more than every other game and I use to play to this game from it's early beginning !

I've download the last SP Modification, and I love the new features and the map with all unik mobs (in templar base), very cool to farm at end game.

Got 2 questions :
1. I notice names of these bosses on this map : Yazzmin, Rnadomizah, Wollah_Bee, Mupid_Stule : Is that a tribute for hellgate global players ? I remeber them when I use to play to hellgate Global :p
2. I'm found of marksman, critical build with CCM, and I saw Nagahaku was able to import Eye of Maverick in his mod. This helm is for sure a must have for my build and I find this helm has a very cool texture. Is there a way to implemant it in the Revival SP ?

Both new locations is one simple level only.
Into Old crypt (looks like a standart Fenchurch/Eastcheap) you can meet Dessi, special pets is included.
Into Deathtrap (looks like a gardencity from HG Global) you can meet one very special boss, called "Terrible monster", aka "Astaroth" in HG Global, or "Talox" in HG 2038.

1. Although it sounds incredibly, all this names is a tribute for one simple player, the biggest chat troll in history Hellgate, known to everyone who played on HGL/Global european servers..   ;D

2. I dont remember correctly, if Eye of Maverick is obtainable in mod or no. If its helm from Moloch, then no.
Because the work with Reanimator is very difficult,  and all players waiting for new multiplayer version of Hellgate, unfortunately i do not plan any new changes in mod.. Sorry.

Ok, thx for answer ! And no pb, if you stop the dev of SP modif for multiplayer playable again, sound the best reason to not continu to patch SP !

I can't wait to play multiplayer again, like most of people ... So go ahead, let the SP on pause and work on the MP :-)

I reinstalled the game 5 times now but everytime after installing the Revival Patch my screen stays black when the game launches. What's wrong? Reinstalling obviously doesn't help at all.

Delete settings.xml, that helped me.

Important ! All attachments on this forum is visible only if you are registered user and logged in.

Development of official Revival mod from Hellgateaus community it was completed by version 1.5b2.
Unofficial Revival mod (v1.6 - v2.3) is extension of this mod - whole content of official revival is included,
lots of errors has been fixed and some things were added.

Mod can be installed through "Revival 1.5b1 launcher".
You need - installed game client Hellgate London from original disc or iso image (supported languages is english and czech)
                   - installed 1.2 SP and 2.0 MP (TCv4) patches (its necessary run both clients (SinglePlayer and MultiPlayer) once after installation of patches)
Unpack the launcher to any location, start "launcher.exe", go to utilities section and choose "modifications - install".
On select screen load "revival un 2.3 .mod.zip". Do not unpack mod before installation !
For more information take look on topic "The "new" launcher (for Revival 1.5 and up)" from Bryan or "Revival 1.5b2 SP Modification" from Malachor.

Installation of Revival mod automatically revert all before installed mods.

This patch is based on Revival version 2.1 and 2.2beta, all characters from foregoing versions is
(theoretically) compatible, but is strongly recommended to backup your save games before instalation.
If you want load to this version character from version 1.9 or lower, then its necessary before installing remove all mythic and double edged items from character and all weapons from weapon slots to backpack.
After instalation you can return it back.

Do you planning to release new versions of this mod ? or development is end ? If are still releasing new versions , what is left now ?

Thanks for all your hard work, and to everyone else that has contributed to this, and other mods. With the Revival mod, Lost London, and  the Nagahaku mod, we are spoiled for choice. It's incredible to think that this game will be 10 years old this year.

Thanks to the efforts of the modders, enough life has been breathed into the game to keep it going, and we still have 2038 to look forward to.

We're lucky to have such a dedicated bunch of people. I hope there will be a way of showing gratitude in the future.

8) Exactly. I tried out all these mods recently; love them all and keep separate save files for all chars within each mod: got like 3 chars, all lvl 25+. It's almost unreal to have such a good community support for an old 'failed' game. Which shows just how much true potential has been wasted due to inaccurate development strategy and pressure. Regardless, this game is a better diablo than diablo 3 imao.

Just popping in to say thanks for the mods and all that has been done for this game. Remember trying it at a friends house back when it was 'new'.  I never got the name but a certain youtuber who explained how the game came to day did pop the name of this website, here I am playing it and still enjoying it.

Save positions from v1.5 is compatible only with v2.3.
If you want play Nagahaku mod, then you must make new character.

I would play both. The 2.3 mod is an enhanced version of the original game, with a couple of very entertaining and welcome new areas for loot grinding.

The Nagahaku mod is still Hellgate: London, but it offers a slightly different experience in my opinion. There is also the Lost London mod. I would say that all discerning Hellgaters should play all the three of them and enjoy all of them for their own uniqueness.
