Title: Revival 1.5b2 SP Modification (17/04/17)

Welcome to the ever so slightly late Revival 1.5b2 mod.

Botmaster's chest fix has been added, and Moloch now spawns in the Ancient Blood levels again.
New optional movement speed increases have been added: from +25% to +100%. They don't combine with each other.
The upgrade and reroll cube recipes have been removed due to low success rates, but the gambling cube recipes are still available at the Holborn Station guard near the healer.

Install Instructions

(Note: both the SP 1.2 and MP 2.0 patches can be found here (http://www.hellgateaus.info/forum/hellgate-london-download-patches/))

Download and install the SP 1.2 patch.
Make sure you run the game once after you've installed.
Download and install the MP 2.0 patch.
Make sure you run the mp version of the game once after you've installed.
Warning: This file is over 1,200 meg.
Download the new Launcher (found below). Unzip in any directory along with all of the dlls - important.
Download the revival 1.5b modification,attached below.
Execute the launcher. In the main menu, select Utilities->Modifications->Install. Select the revival 1.5b.mod.zip file you downloaded.
You will be presented with a installation dialog featuring patch notes and optional components. Select any optional modifications you want and press the install button.
You do not need to revert previous modifications, the launcher will take case of this for you automatically. Watch the progress bar for installation progress. You will be informed via a dialog message box when the modification has been successfully installed - unless you cancel.
Now launch Hellgate London!

Mate, that's wonderful!

That little extra boost of speed makes it SO much more fun - it's like horse-charging into the fray and leaping, sword in hand, pell-mell into the action!

just started looking for mods for HG... (saw the current dates here)
but the one thing I would really like to know..
is there any patch to let the mouse buttons function as W....
even Morrowind allowed that and this is the only game I played much that uses the wsad buttons....

Hi alanbard, I must admit, I thought it was already possible to reassign the mouse buttons. But, yeah, when I looked, mouse 1 and mouse 2 don't appear in the options screen.
So, I'll  look into it.

Edit: So, I have looked into it, and I'm afraid it's just not possible for either the left or right buttons to be reassigned, certainly not as a mod. You could use mouse buttons 3, 4, and 5, if you have them. Or perhaps you could use an external program like autohotkey (http://www.autohotkey.com/).

Hi chieftim!

Looks like you straightened it out yourself by now. ;D

The log you posted seemed to originate from the "old" launcher. However, for this mod you need to follow the original 1.5 instructions (http://www.hellgateaus.info/forum/hellgate-london-modification-downloads/revival-sp-modification-1-5-b1/) and use the "new" launcher linked there.

To refresh memories:Install game then Hellgate  1.2 patch,create character,play a bit in Russel Square,exit game.Install MP 2.0 patch then click on the multiplayer buttons.You should see a login screen.Exit game.Install Revival launcher then 1.5b launcher.Install Revival 1.5b2 or Naga mod with 1.5b launcher.Other mods should be installed with Revival launcher.Hope this helps. ;)

That's about he size of it - you can get away without the  character-to--Russell--square part but you HAVE to open and start MP to that login screen (you can't log in so don't bother)

Having said that, doing the SP part won't harm anything and might help with stability (as it locates files properly)

Hello everybody.
I installed this mod few days ago and I'm having a lot of fun. It is a great mod with lots of fun additions, but one issue however has halted my progress. Millennium Battle done; after speaking with Arphaun, Lucious Aldin had only the basic dialogue like: Lucious is insane... and I couldn't get "The Wall" quest. Game reloaded, two different characters, two different PC's, all the same. Main quest not given means dead game.
However, removing the mod and installing 1.5b1, fixed the issue. Aldin gave me the quest for both characters. I reinstalled the 1.5b2, and all was fine, the quest was on.
If it is a bug, maybe it's not too hard to fix.

In truth, I don't really play HGL anymore (especially not the HG Global), but I'd go for SP if things looked the way they do over there, and the new 2H sword weapons were in the game.

AFAIK some models/meshes are impossible to import as it stands right now. The Revival team would have to completely redo the Revival mod to be able to import them.
Of what kind of textures are you speaking? Most of the textures in HGG which were from the original game have a lower resolution than those of Hellgate: London.
And if you want more recent skill tables and items from the multiplayer test center update 2.0 you should check out Nagahaku's mod. You can find it here: http://www.hellgateaus.info/forum/hellgate-london-fan-modifications/

Such an awesome and nice game, and female characters (and males, though I don't play males at all - I'd rather watch a female ass for 10 hours every saturday :D ) look like someone vomited their textures on paper and scanned them in. Sorry for being vulgar, but they're disgusting - face, eye, hair, all their tex's are crap ...

Yeah, the character textures are crap but don't annoy anymore once you've fully equipped your character.

One thing i found REALLY weird.

(I think it was in HG-Global)


You know how, if you take off all your armour, your female character has a pair of granny panties on and a sports bra?

Well - I got that mission where you get sent though the clear warp thingy into the broken down city to kill some 100 foot high demon with slashy wings and such (there's a broken bridge you have to make your way down)

Well... HER panties were sexy little lacy things!  Now THAT I could happily watch all day...

I've ran through Stonehenge a few times, and I can say, as far as a content zone goes, it's not all that much - it's actually crap to begin with. Maybe if it introduced new items, those are worth something, but other than that, you just run through various zones to kill more Shulgoth clone minibosses, collect trophies, then kill Moloch using said trophies.

Moloch's already in Nagahaku, so I dare say the best content got imported there. Anything else - not worth mentioning (I don't know about any new items, I'll repeat that).

Stonehenge introduced now items but they're included in Revival and Nagahaku.

It wasnt a whole lot of innovative new thought but i liked the layout of stonehenge and the attempt at creating what i considered speedrun arenas and thats what i miss a lot.

Hello everyone, i'm new on the forum and its awesome to see that people are still working on mods for hellgate!

I have a little issue with Revival, when I'm in game some of the textures are really low resolutions, is this normal?

For example the textures behind vendors are so low resolutions I can almost see the pixels on it.

I remember that with the 1.2.1 version you were forced to use the dx9 exe but I had no problem with the textures at all, on the 1.5b2 version I tried both of the dx10 and dx9 but it doesn't seem to do anything.

Here is a screenshot, as you can see the textures on the shield and weapon are fine, on the character its decent same thing for the zombies, but for the rest of the world its pretty bad, I have everything maxed out btw.

Edit : when I launch the game the launcher tells me that it couldn't find the speed of my cpu, if that can help.

This is normal. Some textures look really bad. DX10 or DX9 doesn't make a difference, they just use different shaders.

Which launcher tells you something about your CPU? The standard Hellgate one or the Revival launcher?

Actually you don't need to use any of the launchers to play the game. The launcher is only necessary to apply the mods. After you've done that you can launch Hellgate via hellgate_sp_dx10_x64.exe (or the exe you want to use). But Malachor might be able to help you regarding the warning.

The first screenshot is the old one using revival 1.5b2 with the new launcher, the second screenshot is with version 1.2.1 using the old launcher.
It's difficult to see a difference on these low resolution screenshots, especially when there are different kind of textures. Could you upload full resolution screenshots of same textures/tilesets on something like imgur so we can see a direct comparison?

Hi. I installed this mod with an already created character which is Lvl 6. I assumed I would loose it, or loose the items, but everything seems to be there. I was wondering if I can still play this character without any issues? Also I read in the Mod notes to not get too attached to your character since it's a Beta and things might change making it incompatible. Thing is, I don't have the time nor the will to play hours and hours on a character to then loose it. Could you give me some advices on what to do? Should I keep playing 1.2 Vanilla, play Revival 1.2.1 and stick with it, or go on with 1.5b2 without too much worries? And again, did I just fuck up my Lvl. 6 Vanilla character savegame by loading it in the 1.5b2 mod(Since saves are done automatically)? Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Your character is fine. Generally you can use pretty much every character with every mod. Only a few mods make changes which don't support pre-existing characters or items. But in this case you're totally fine.

I don't know about the plans of the Revival devs regarding new releases though.

That's news to me. You can't move equipped items from your character to the inventory and from the inventory to your stash?

Exactly. When I pick up for example a weapon or armor from my character and put it in inventory, won't work. It also disappear, I only see the closed hand icon. I only can put it back into my hands. Also if I go into the stash, pick up the weapon from my hands and try to directly swap with another, now it works. Put can't put anything from grid to grid. Only things I can move in the grids are the small items. And again, the items don't appear once picked up as they should.

I get a closed hand with nothing. Also the hand stay closed permanently once I pick up any item. Tried reloading the game, restarting the game. Same thing. I guess I'll have to re-install the game, ditch that character, and figure out what I should do next with a fresh start. That is, play with Vanilla 1.2, Revival 1.2.1 (Since it isn't Beta) or try 1.5b2 with a new character.

To your knowledge, is 1.2.1 less buggy? I would prefer less features, but a more stable/reliable mod experience. Does the 1.2.1 also includes uniques and extras from the 2.0 Multilayer Patch, or is it only 1.5b2? Thanks again for trying to help.

P.S. I play with the x64 DX10 executable on Win7.

Is it just the old items which you've found before installing 1.5? It might be possible that those items won't work anymore but all new found/bought ones should work fine. In that case you won't have to restart.

The only bug of 1.5 I know of is the one where you can't progress in the main quest in Charing Cross Station. If you happen to have that bug you can just go back to 1.5b1, complete the quest and install 1.5b2 again. I've played 1.5b2 for the longest time without any issues before switching to Nagahaku (not because of bugs). I don't know about 1.2.1 because I never played it. But from reading a lot of the forums posts I think 1.5 is about as stable as 1.2.1.
Only 1.5 and Nagahaku contain items from TC2.0. Naga also has some skills from TC2.0.

My bad, I didn't notice there was Armor/Weapon/Misc tabs in main inventory too. That was the issue. I tried to put Weapon/Armor into Misc, thus why it didn't work. Sorry about that.

As for the Main Quest bug, what would be the proper process to fix it if I experience it? Start 1.5 launcher, use Mod Revert, then install 1.5b1, load the game, complete quest, exit. Re-Launch 1.5 Launcher, Mod Revert, re-install 1.5b2, and re-launch the game. Is that right? Or will I need the old Launcher or something?

Also, does this Main Quest bug occur 100% of the time, or is it random?

My bad, I didn't notice there was Armor/Weapon/Misc tabs in main inventory too. That was the issue. I tried to put Weapon/Armor into Misc, thus why it didn't work. Sorry about that.

As for the Main Quest bug, what would be the proper process to fix it if I experience it. Start 1.5 launcher, use Mod Revert, then install 1.5b1, load the game, complete quest, exit. Re-Launch 1.5 Launcher, Mod Revert, and Re-Install 1.5b2, re-launch the game. Is that right? Or will I need the old Launcher or something?

Also, is this Main Quest bug occur 100% of the time, or is it random?
I'm glad you found a solution for your issue.
If you encounter that main quest bug, which doesn't seem to occur 100% of the time, you just install 1.5b1 without reverting anything, complete the quest chain and install 1.5b2 without reverting. Always use the new Revival 1.5 launcher unless a specific mod needs the old launcher (like Lost London).

Correct. This is since these mods automatically revert any previous mod changes by default. The revert function is only necessary if you want to make a clean install of a standalone mod which doesn't revert automatically.

There is some sort of karma system but AFAIK it is only available when you have at least 10 posts. Then there are two buttons below every user's nickname/portrait which say [applaud] [smite]

Good to see the mod's still alive!  :D Is there any chance we can get more gameplay improvements and content? I'd love to see some stuff form Hellgate Global. I can't play it because of engine downgrades, it has some nice content though (e.g. face textures, armors). PM me if you need help in mod development. Malachor wrote in another thread that they won't include Global stuff.
On the other hand, the most advanced mod in terms of TC2.0 content is Nagahaku's mod.

You can tone down the monster density to Revival 1.5 standard and most bosses are the exact same as in Revival 1.5.

The design for Revival is to include what content/changes we can from the test centre of Hellgate: London. Which is no longer active, obviously, but it means we are less likely to get into trouble for doing so.
Including content/changes from Hellgate: Global wasn't because it was active. And even if it's not active now, there is still a company around that may make trouble. Do a search on "hellgate", hellgateaus turns up on the first page of results. I, personally don't mind including the c/c, but I want to wait until after the tcv2 c/c is in, and at the rate I'm going, that'll give enough time to see what happens with global.

It's hard to say if that's a mod issue or just HG.

Hellgate is plagued with memory error crashes, always has been.

I find the Nag mod and LL (and , to a lesser extent, Revival) actually lessens the crashes (maybe they fixed a few of the larger memory error sections?)

I had these kind of crashes when I installed Revival 1.5 after reverting previous installed mods. I was able to fix the issue by completely reinstalling Hellgate and the mod file I wanted to use.

Is there an area for requests? I'm not seeing it.

Just wondered if there could be an option to pick up all items in the vicinity, not just cash and other small items. Personally, I think this games real strength lies in running around like an idiot killing everything in sight, not the fancy inventory meta-game.

It would be nice to have an auto-dismantler capability/option too, but the auto pick-up seems a slight change to some things already there.

Lodestone, The auto dismantler is not possible in any way shape or form, but auto pickup all could be done. On a side note did you know that holding the pickup button down picks everything in the vicinity up quickly?

desertedsun, sorry, you have to reinstall the whole mod. Well, I suppose it would be possible to separate them into their own .mod.zip file. Although that means that there would be more .idx/.dat files, which isn't that big a deal I guess. However the idea behind keeping them together was to minimise the amount of changes needed to be made. For example, the improved sniper rifle mods modify items.txt.cooked, that would mean that the separate .mod.zip file would need to have a copy of the file and if it was then modified in Revival, the version in the sniper rifle mod would need to be changed as well.
Anyway, even creating a separate movement speed mod, changing the movement speed would still require reinstallation of the movement speed mod, so the only thing that would change is the reinstallation time.

What would be helpful is to have the mod "remember" the tick boxes you installed it with - so they are pre-ticked and you don;t need to remember what you had before... then you go an untick whatever you want to change and go for it.

Actually i just uninstalled and reinstalled everything. Which version of the Revival mod has vanilla drop rates or has lower drop rates for uniques because they are dropping like crazy and takes the fun out of getting uniques? Is there a stable version that has  the expanded inventory,mythic items, the cube and lower drop rates?

Does anyone know how to select a reward after completing a quest? I try to grab the one I want and put it in my inventory, but it doesn't work and I have to do the choose for me option.

Drop rates are slightly different from vanilla, but you shouldn't be getting a lot of uniques. I've tested with a new character up until killing Shulgoth, and the only unique was one of his. Would you mind telling me where your character is, so I can test it around there?
And regarding the quest rewards, are you using the expanded storage mod? If so are you putting the rewards in the relevant page? weapons for weapons etc.

I think desertedsun is asking about the quests.  I believe he is saying that the quest rewards not giving him the one he selects and he have to click the "Choose For Me" Button.

I'm not sure about the item reward after doing the quests.  I haven't tried clicking one of the rewards manually.

When I got my first 2 drops in the game they were both uniques so I assumed that uniques would be dropping like crazy, but later they were a lot less frequent. Yes, i'm using the expanded storage mod. I didn't notice that you had to put the rewards in certain tabs like weapons tab so thanks for that.

We're talking about choosing rewards for quest. For example, if I get a type of armor as a reward I have to drag and drop it into the armor tab.

To clarify, these are all the mod text additions have not been translated into French.

Greetings!

Decided to take another dive into Hellgate and encountered MQ progress problem: Craven Street portal is blocked and Lucious Aldin only talks about Phantom side quest. Found 2 mentions of the problem here, both related to Revival 1.5b2, with suggested reverting to 1.5b1. In my case, reverting makes SP inaccessible – the game just crashes without even saying that save files or corrupt or something. Any way to fix this? Maybe there's some MQ-related xml file that contains an invalid string?

Reverting to vanilla version did not activate MQ in Charing Cross, clean installation with Revival 1.5b1 leads to CTDs. Any ideas?

Greetings!

Another problem to report: new items (Moonblade, Pyrocaster, Vigilante, etc.) don't have in-game models or icons. It's not that bad on its own – the damage is still there and modding slots are available – but the game crashes every now and then when trader's or crafter's inventory is accessed or a champion mob is killed, so I can only guess that some new items fail to load properly. Error message is always the same: "The Instruction at 0x40406dcd referenced memory at 0x00000011. The memory could not be read."

Please take a look into it.

Yea,i have this problem too, and i can't trade with liverpool station merchant.when i click on it to trade,my game stop and exit,and everytime i get this error

So i just completed the millennium battle quest and afterward I tried talking to Lucious Aldin in Charing Cross Station to get the quest "The Wall", but when I click to accept the quest nothing happens and I don't get the quest. Now I'm stuck and cant continue.

Also gamble tokens stopped working. I have no idea why. The cube still creates other things.

Grab the version from the first post, that has the quest fix. I'll have to check the gamble recipes later when I get the time, but thanks for letting me know.

Tried the version posted on 20.03, the game doesn't crash anymore (5 hours, nothing, previously no more than 40 minutes w/o CTD), but Moonblade and other similar weapons still have no in-game models. Is it required to start a new character to see the effect of the fix?

That is strange. No you don't need a new character; my test character was from before revival 1.2. How about uploading your character and I'll check with my installation.

I didn't think that the character was the problem, but I just thought I'd confirm it.
And now having confirmed it, we need to look at other things.

Could you confirm that you have sp_hellgate_1.10.180.3416_1.0.86.45806.dat, and sp_hellgate_1.10.180.3416_1.0.86.4580.idx?

Could you download Reanimator, if you don't already have it, and then go to View -> File Explorer, then once it loads, look in units/items/weapons/moonblade for any files?
If there are files, could you open Items in the Table Editor, go down to row 1904, it should have Moon Blade in the name column, and see if it has moonblade_diffuse.tga in the diffuse column, moonblade_normal.tga in the normal column, moonblade_specular.tga in the specular column, and moonblade_glow.tga in the lightmap column?

Moonblade files: no Moonblade folder in …\units\item\weapons.Since you don't have the *.dat this would be why you don't have this.

Do you have the multiplayer patch installed? There should be 4 mp_hellgate_etc files, 2 *.dat, and 2 *.idx.

On a side note, I have to say that I'm really puzzled as why you would only have sp_hellgate_1.10.180.3416_1.0.86.4580.idx, and not sp_hellgate_1.10.180.3416_1.0.86.4580.dat as well. That, and why it's 32kb and not ~700kb.

Tried deleting this one file and reinstalling the mod, tried deleting everything and reinstalling the game and the mod. Got the same files with the same size. Mod launcher did not report any issues.

Installation path is not default, but new path is specified in mod launcher, so I really don't know what could it be.

Ran MP once, removed and reinstalled the mod, got black screen and no reaction on launch. Task Manager says the game is running, but it's stuck.

Sorry, I am running out of ideas.
Try uninstalling the mod, then run the vanilla game. As sp start a new character, then run mp.
Then install the mod.
If that doesn't work, the only other thing I can think of doing is starting afresh.
Uninstall the game, and either delete, or move your Documents/Hellgate london folder(whichever you prefer, and however it's named/located).
Then install the game, start a new character and get it to holborn station, then quit out of the game.
Install the sp patch, and start a new character(I'm clutching at straws I know), get it to holborn station then quit out of the game.
Install the mp patch, run it then quit.
Install the mod, but before playing it see what files have been created. If you have both sp_hellgate_1.10.180.3416_1.0.86.4580.idx and sp_hellgate_1.10.180.3416_1.0.86.4580.dat, then I think it will have worked. And if that doesn't work? I don't know.

Well, last time I did just that: fresh install of the game, with saves and settings cleared from MyDocs, patch sp 1.2, new char, patch mp 2.0, Revival mod - only sp…4580.idx is created and it's 32 b in size.

As for the version that includes running MP, files are created correctly (sp…4580.dat - 383 Mb and sp…4580.idx - 719 kb), but the game (sp) doesn't go past black screen on launch and doesn't report any errors. Maybe it has something to do with MP conversion process – when there are no MP files, it takes only a few seconds and results in SP files missing.


This reminds me: on two completely different PCs (OS, internals, even chassis and peripherals) I've got the same bug in MechCommander 2, a bug so specific that even the person who has been modding the game for years (Wolf-X, IIRC) couldn't help and haven't even heard of such bug from anyone else. I mean, it could just be my luck.

Fumbled a bit more: without running MP only one small SP…4580 file is created and copying files created by Revival launcher under +MP installation leads to the same black screen.

Maybe next update, whenever it comes out, will work better for me *sigh*.

I sometimes get the black screen - it's the video playing or not playing and the title screen borked.

Just click about three times or press enter - and you end up ate the character selection window and all is OK.

Been playing Rev 1.5b2 since I started my character and now I'm halfway through nightmare.

Haven't really found any problems yet. One thing I've noticed is that the auto-track quest feature seems to not always work. Also sometimes when I collect a quest item from an enemy it doesn't show the white text on my screen showing my progress.

Other than that I love the mod and hope you keep updating it.

Don't you worry about that. I spend more time modding the game than playing it. I have 1 character who has completed nightmare, another who has at least started it, and all of the rest of them are test characters. Yes, while this may sound like I'm bragging, I have the maximum amount of characters you can have, even though I don't know how many there are; never worried about counting them.
On another note, I'm glad you haven't found any problems.

Hey, I have a couple questions about pets and the mysterious egg.

So, does the egg just drop from any boss (including Moloch) the first time you kill them? Or any time you kill them.

Also what pets are available in this mod?

So far I haven't been able to get Nautilus or Heap Raptor, but I think I have all the others. From looking online it seems like there were a lot of pets in different version of the game, but so far I've only been able to get 6. Do you have plans to add more pets in the future?

And it looks like there should also be Nautilus, Heap raptor and Revenant.

One of the zombots, Fester, and Nautilus, Heap raptor and Revenant are cube recipes, the other you find.
The reason the recipes were decreased is because there was too high a chance that the recipes wouldn't work the way they were supposed to, so they were removed.

Well after wrecking my install with a Reanimator experiment last night, I decided to reinstall and give 1.5b2 a go. Nice job! It looks really nice. Is there a custom video in the beginning? I too get the black screen, like my tv doesn't support the resolution. I can however, hear music and press buttons to get to character select screen. Also, it seems the gamma slider no longer works.

I was also getting the black screen + weird colors and freeze when trying to run this Mod in DX9. Apparently, the program was trying to run windowed. After toggling windowed to fullscreen, everything works (including gamma). I don't know how it got set to windowed or why it doesn't work windowed. Sorry if this has been reported already.

I think champions in nightmare need to be nerfed.

Usually I'm going along and everything's fine, then I run into a champion and its like I'm fighting Moloch from the Stonehenge patch. They take like no damage and every hit they deal is a crit. Sometimes it takes anywhere from 1-3 min just to kill one of them. I wouldn't mind if they had epic drops or something, but they don't. So now I've gotten into the habit of just passing them. I don't know if this is something you can change or not, but I just think its something to look at.

Also, Riftcoils do way too much damage.

I should mention I'm playing on elite mode, but still the difficulty seems unbalanced. Especially since I have overpowered gear I hexed myself.

Oh, I've had that - walking along, a few red flashes then DEAD! - and I've got over 3500 health so there's something hitting for 1000-1500 per hit!

I guess you jus' gotsta watch out when you's fighting the daemons of Hell!

Just met Necar on Nightmare mode and he's 8 levels above me. I can barely scratch his shield while he kills me with just a couple of hits. Something's wrong here.

Reloaded the game, now he's lv. 42, but some Rare (not even Legendary) Orbiles are lv. 47 and barely killable. It seems like toughness modifier goes off sometimes.

That's strange for a couple of reasons. First I had no idea the monster level was changed, nothing in the install.xml file mentions it. And second, Upper Thames monsterLevelNightmare entry is 47, so I don't know why monsters would be 52nd.
Okay, what I'll do, is see what the unmodified entries say, and make some changes.

Edit:
So I had a look and we didn't change the monsterLevelNightmare entries from the vanilla game. But that doesn't explain why you're encountering 52nd level when they should be 47th level.
Elite difficulty doesn't seem to change their level either.

Another memory addressing problem to report: persistent CTDs in locations surrounding Monument Station (Waterman's Walk, Monument Tunnels, Lower and Upper Thames) upon killing champion mobs. Most of the time the error is "0x 8005 e3f5 - 0x0000 0134" and sometimes "0x 4003 7d80 - 0xffff ffff". Likely a problem with loot tables (current character level 44, mob level 48).

Well, Ribcage is one offender, but it seems to happen with any.
Current version does not include the latest level-down fix (reloading the game seems to return mob level and toughness to what is expected of Nightmare mode, but there are still problems, like Beast of Abaddon being lv. 48 and his Fellbores lv. 52, which means they are the boss and not him).

Update: Moloch is guilty as well (char lv. 48, Moloch lv. 50), so his loot tables also contain that special something.

Update 2: lv. 50, Mark Lane surroundings, getting frequent CTDs (every ~30 mins) with the same memory error (…e3f5) upon accessing merchant's stock or killing champions and sometimes even regular mobs (last time it was a simple Gremlin Trooper).

First of all I want to thank everybody that made this project happend a lot. I've played Hellgate since Beta and loved it ever since. Due to real life issues I was not playing it all the time but I never stopped loving that great game. However, the game did not work out as evidenced by the game failing twice (afaik).

I haven't played it at the time the servers went offline ... actually I havent played it for about 2+ years. Yesterday I felt the urge to play it again I was looking for a way to play it in Singleplayer - since I never was a big fan of guilds or anything ... Singleplayer is not a bad choice. I was, however, aware that there was some modification available (I did not now it was called Revival or anything). When I found and successfully installed Revival 1.5b2 and started playing it again I was amazed.

Regarding your issue, that is a known problem, and I could never work out why it did that, when the nonmodified inventory/stash was fine. But I have been able to eliminate it with Expanded storage 3 (http://www.hellgateaus.info/forum/hellgate-london-fan-modifications/expanded-storage-3-0/).

Hello, I just discovered this mod yesterday and I'm looking forward to trying it, so thanks for all your work! Unfortunately I seem to have run into some trouble installing it. The installer says my files are good, then I select the 5b2 zip file I downloaded. On the next screen it says to select optional packages iirc, and that is all blank. I click next and it says everything went fine, and there are no errors in the log file.

I made a new character and as far as I can tell I don't have more storage space or the dye packs or the bigger stash, so I think something went wrong. Has anyone had this problem before? I looked for a guide but the only one I found was for 1b2.

That's strange, i play Revival 1.2 now, and i noticed, that enemies tend to strongly outlevel me in middle of Nigtmare. For example, my character's level has 41 level, and i'm forced to face 50-lvl enemies now. and i do ALL side quests, and kill ALL monsters in locations. It just isnt enough - enemies grow up too repidly.
Sure, my Evoker is OP class, and can deal with them, but it takes too much time to kill them.

I seem to remember this being a vanilla issue that was giving problems to the modders. They did a great job on a lot of stuff. Did more with this game then was originally thought possible. The unhell utilitie and the ones that worked on that added a lot of possibilities.

Then these guys come in. Use that to rip out the files. Figure out how to interact with them and get stuff rolling. The game died. Without this and other sites it would have been long forgotten. They have given Hellgate a unlife that even Sydonia's minions would be jealous of.

I had played vanilla and Revival 1.2 versions to the end of Nightmare mode and I certainly do not recall such heavy opposition.

That's strange, i play Revival 1.2 now, and i noticed, that enemies tend to strongly outlevel me in middle of Nigtmare. For example, my character's level has 41 level, and i'm forced to face 50-lvl enemies now. and i do ALL side quests, and kill ALL monsters in locations. It just isnt enough - enemies grow up too repidly.
Sure, my Evoker is OP class, and can deal with them, but it takes too much time to kill them.

I am currently Level 47 and my Quest wants me to fight 54+. I tried leveling by just killing monsters but it's soooo tedious :/ It takes me 3-4 hours of playtime for 1 level - so I'd need about 30 hours of stupid monster killing in order to advance and I can only force myself to play about 1 hour at most before I loose interest :/

My apologies to everyone for taking so long.
I think I've fixed the monster level issues.
When I went through nightmare Tower of london, the beast of abaddon and his fellbore minions are now all 38th level. And monsters in nightmare churchyard(off St Paul's station) are 49th level.
Try it and see if it works.

Hello. I used search with key-words "heal", "healing" and "priest" on SP modifications subforum. Moloch's priests do not heal him, they stay afk even if shooted. I don't know if anyone still working on this Revival mod. Info about this bug was found in Kikina's unofficial Rev 1.7 mod release notes. Thanks for attention.

Hmm right, I thought Kikina made personal mod. I've read release notes and now see that's Rev 1.5 with bug fixes and some new stuff.

I haven't installed 2.1, but 2.0 is brilliant. No bugs that I can find (that weren't in the original Flagship Studios game anyway) and all of the loot from 1.5*. - plus all the goodies since.

It's a brilliant mod.

Does the original installation language matter? And does the patch add or fix text strings ?

I mean ;  what will be the result if I install the patch on a French version ? Is it better to reinstall the game in English ?

DrGast, there is some text that is only in english I'm afraid. I'm not sure if they'll be blank, or something else, in french.

Missing tanslations will result in a string being displayed instead of the original text. The reason for that is some stuff in the mods just don't have localisation so if you use a differnt language the game doesn't have anything to display and just shows the string where the text is meant to be. You either have to live with that or add translations yourself with reanimator.

Both the mod itself and the launcher should be available as attachments, at the very bottom of the first post.
Do they not appear there for you?
