GreenPark posters
« on: Aug 06, 2009; 05:22 PM »
I was looking to do some small replacements of the ads/posters in Green Park.
So far I haven't come across the naming convention the graphics in Green Park may be using.

Has anyone found this?

(I hope this was the correct forum to post this in - sorry if I erred)

I wouldn't mind knowing the answer either, or the location of those small poster stands that you find scattered about.

I'm sure that Berit mentioned he found them in the old forums, but no idea where.

Fingers crossed you will get an answer soon... :)

If I remember correctly It's here

*Databackgroundtubestationstextures

Look for - posters01.dds

This one works a little differently from the rest, you'll see what I mean when you open it ... Lot's of other texture files in there you can play around with too ... They work the same as the posters so have fun ...

Cool!  8-)
I'll see what I can come up with (tomorrow)...

Uploaded another couple in the station poster thread - made it as a token of appreciation for Maeyan.

I saw them ...VERY sweet ... I love'em ...

BTW ...There are several files that have the various 'signs' in them, just remember that HG:L re-uses some textures backwards or upside down and so on, so experiment and as always ... Have Fun and ... POST YOU'RE SCREENSHOTS !!!

Partial headway.

I found the directory where the greenpark signboards/advertisement posters are. They're in:
*Datahellgate000databackgroundstationlow

Appears that all of the pics are in one cluster, called posters01.dds
I renamed the original as posters01.bak; made a new file (same file size) and called it posters01.dds

hglzapper did not touch that file.

I made sure it was in the active game directory, but as of yet, the new pics do not show up.
Not sure at this time what I may need to do.
In the meantime, here's the .jpg of the file (yes, some looks sideways, but it matches the original)... plus the .rar in case someone with the unhelled game wants to give it a try.

That's unfortunately not the right directory Coldheart (unless you're running the game at really low graphics detail) the "Low' directores are only for backup purposes in case HG:L can't load/show the High Res version (oh and it also uses them as the long distance view for items/textures) ... I listed the directory to find them somehwere around here, in one of the posts ...

Found it !!!

I must have been a lot more tired than I thought.
Checked this morning and there they were in the ~backgroundstation directory.
Both the posters01.xml.cooked and posters_s.xml.cooked

I have to make a few small corrections to a couple of the dimensions on the sub pics shown in the .jpg above, but for now, here's some screenshots.

I put these here as Green Park shows them the most.

For the trash can, the term REFUSE is pronounced " ref-you's "

Also, some of those GreenPark ads will show up in a couple of other stations that use the smaller sign boards.
Holborn station, I think Oxford has one and St.Paul's uses one or two.

Love the crates and trash can.

I tried doing something similar to get Revival graffiti to show on some of the combat zone walls... and failed. :(

I was sure that in the low res directory, there were a couple of pics that appeared to be some of the graffitti.
I'll play with it a bit later, but am sure that by using the pic in low res, altering it, then save it in the the directory one up from low res; the zapper would actually allow it to be used.

There are also the cctv, washroom, and warning decals that can be changed if one wanted.
