« on: Oct 18, 2015; 06:49 PM »
Hanbitsoft launches the HELLGATE project in collaboration with Skonec. The title is scheduled for release on Playstation VR in 2016 Q1 late 2017.

Edit: A mobile version of Hellgate, titled "Hellgate FPS",is now available on Google play store.
Edit 2: Some footage of the upcoming Hellgate VR has become available (many thanks to Michael741 for sharing!):
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V2ReyBow05E&feature=youtu.be

The platform or the release date at the moment is unknown of this new game but it will be available in VR version called HELLGATE VR. According to the press release by Hanbit Soft they are planning to release the new game in 2016 Q1."

Edit: According to vrfocus,Hellgate VR "has been confirmed for release late in 2017, but at present there is no confirmation of a launch outside of Korea".The scheduled release is only mentioned to target Playstation VR so far.

List of Global class guides.
The above guides may be obsolete for vanilla SP, but they may still hold true to an extent for some mods and 2038.

Hah,
Reminds me of the announcement for Hellgate 2 on 01/18/2013 with Unreal Engine 3 and Havok Physics.
And the relatively fast cancellation of it on 12/04/2013.

Edit: I also remember an announcement that Hellgate 2 will be released end of the year 2013 on mobile. But I think they never managed to launch it.

I give them another 3-4 months to announce a delay of development because of development team break-up. And another 4 months to announce the cancellation of the project.

I can't help but share some of your scepticism. They haven't been quite delivering on their announced projects and whatnot,so there's little hope that this will be any different.

I do have to admit though, that the "little hope" banner tingles my brain far better than the "no hope" sign written all over the HG silence.
Have I mentioned how my optimism often borders on delusions?I probably have :)

Huh, a new Hellgate by Hanbit Soft? Something tells me I'll be disappointed. I'd be happy to be proven wrong.

looking at Skonec's previous games, new Hellgate might as well be an on-rails shooter =/

VR seems to be the new cool kid on the block - so if you can't be friends immediately, make at least sure that you're talking about it.

Given their previous history, I sincerely doubt that Hanbit/T3 - or any affiliate companies they can talk into their boat - will be able to pull off this stunt. As pointed out, they already made an attempt to create "Hellgate 2" based on a different game engine, probably 'portable' / cross-platform to achieve the "mobile" version they were talking about. And now we're simply adding the VR cherry on top of it, easy as pie?

They may have 'inherited' the Mythos/Hellgate code base from FSS, but I don't think they'll be able to transform it into something new of this scale. All they ever did (including the "Tokyo" expansion) was basically hacking a few game data tables, and minor modifications of functionality that already existed back from the last Flagship/TC version. Original developer teams and/or those people who had the relevant knowledge are long gone.

So okay, let's hope for the next big miracle to happen. But considering their inability to even provide the greenlighted Steam version, and with the latest news of HG:G shutting down, I'm not gonna hold my breath in anticipation...

I really,really wish I could disagree.
Alas,I don't.

Not sure if this is related, but it looks like they're going ahead with the mobile version of Hellgate, judging from this article. Its a little old, but it looks like they actually have a working game this time around instead of just concept art:

.... they misspelled Holborn station.

This is a legend incarnate.A tale for the ages,a mythos to preserve for the next generation.
A glimpse of the HG universe that is not SP or Global?
I shall sew a banner with a smiley face, call it my "Banner of Optimism Eternal" and wave it forevermore with pride unspoken.

In all seriousness though,I'm quite glad...though I do raise an eyebrow as well.
Not to look a gift horse in the mouth, but I do see some alarming elements in that...one whole photo we have to work with.

-Is that a timer?
I will be so bummed if stages are timed now.Like,really.

-Is that a bullet indicator?
Please,oh please don't make this wonderful RPG-hack-shooter mish mash into a mobile FPS.I pray to the Old Gods and the New,don't.

-What's with the 52'' CD?
Not to be looking under my nails, but this does give me the creeps that we're getting those uber-long CD uber skills that we have to pay to cut their CDs in half...Been there before, and I'd really rather not see HG pulled through that part of the swamp of the mobile F2P market.
Might just be that one skill each class has that boasts a lengthy CD and I'm overthinking it.Still, can't be too suspicious of these particular devs.

...okay see, that's what happens when you give a man hopes for years and years and finally deliver a glimpse of a speck of a particle of light. He's going to become the most nit-picky person on earth,he is.

Okay I'm done babbling.
Good digging Cthulhu,I praise your tendriled Majesty for bringing this to light :)

well that's stupid. if they had any freaking sense they would of release global on steam , thousands of players was ready to play it. they would of continue making hellgate 2.  mean i tell you devs are freaking stupid these days, years. and people wonder why i never invest any money into mmo games anymore. because they always get shut down or the stupid devs ignores the community about needs to be in the game.

sigh , hellgate is official dead folks. just be thankful london is around :) and other games similar to it, like torchlight 1 and 2, path of exlie, grimdawn, fate series.

Just looked up the game you mentioned, Mobile Audition, which their term is World Domination 2.  They do have the game on the Google Play Services site.  However, it does not look like anything to Hellgate London.  It seems that game is more of a Turn Based Game.

It says on the Google Play site that it is in the Final Closed Beta Test.  If and when they translate it to English, not sure.  It most likely will be a Free 2 Play game, but with in-game purchases.

Does anyone remember Vampire Bloodlines?  It too had a cult following and someone started importing assets into unity after Activision continued sweeping the game under the rug for 10 years.  LOL  Naturally the IP holders CCP shut it down only to do jack squat with the property...and then sold it to Paradox.  I wish they could pick Hellgate up from it's new keepers (they'll never own it truly...lol) and do just that - release on steam with reasonable upgrades and develop part too...best Idea I heard in awhile.
