oddly enough, this will have (or completely be) single player.  did any other version have SP, aside from Flagship's?

I think they just converted content from Global to single player (shared stash would be great).

this is my wish coming true in its exact form. Only wish I could use my characters from the Tokyo server.

It juts goes to show how enduring this IP is. To have the pleasure of playing the modified original single player version released by Flagship, the London 2038 project (which eats up so much of my leisure time!), and now a T3 single player version that includes the Tokyo content is like being locked in a sweet shop for a weekend when I was a kid!

I will definitely be playing this!

I lost all interest to other games after this announcement. It will be a long wait till 15th November.

hey guys want to ask a few questions about the upcoming steam release of the game.

I am not familiar with the way Steam works, especially when it comes to solo play.

1. Would the save file be stored at Steam server, like the way multiplayer save files were?
2. If save files are saved in my pc, would I be able to use my old characters created before?
3. assuming #2 is possible, would I be able to use 'trade' function from the reanimator? gosh I don't even think about the case where I found a Hurricane with Summoner and can't do anything with it.

I don't know for sure about your questions, we'll know more when it's actually out, but my guesses are:
1. Saves will be stored locally.
2. Perhaps if the character is from the previous hellgate global and those saves were stored locally, but if you mean hellgate london characters, then no, the games are just different enough for them to be incompatible.
3. no, I imagine that the trade function requires the characters to be from hellgate london, so it won't be compatible with hellgate global characters.

Steam is a cloud service, so in normal case is your gamesaves stored in your computer and synchronize with backup on steam servers. But game developers can support this scheme, or not.
My personal impression of this thing is such (it was already discussed at Discord):
"I think if this is not a fake at all, then steam Hellgate will be ONLINE singleplayer. I just can not believe that they would have been able to transfer whole Tokyo to SP. They just run the Global client without the chance to meet other players, with original premium items shop...
Basically, through SP play they will solve their worries with mmbbq..."   ;)

thanks for the quick response guys. hope there's shared storage :(

Online single player haha. why didn't anybody think of that before.

I guess we'll have to see what kind of tweaks they implemented for the single play
