Quest for Death [MOD]
« on: Jan 06, 2010; 07:43 PM »
Recently we started getting a lot of reports about increased demon activity on the surface.
We need YOU to go out there and kick those uglies back to hell!

WARNING: The following MOD will increase the difficulty of the game if you take on these quests.

Easy - 250 kills per quest. Grants 1 AP for completing.
Normal - 500 kills per quest. Grants 2 AP for completing.
Hard (aka crash like a *****) - 1000 kills per quest. Grants 3 AP for completing.

All 32 kill quests now working. Bad Company, Heavyweight, Overkill and Wart's secret are now repeatable.

Installation:
Download desired mode.
Run the Launcher.
Install mod package.

Download:

QFD normal.mod.zip[/attachment:v9vqnbx6]

QFD hard.mod.zip[/attachment:v9vqnbx6]

Edit:
How to make it easier to find that last demon:
Open up HGLmodder (Just 'cause it's easier to edit gameglobals with it), open gameglobals and edit Data1 under the 40th entry "elite_monster_awareness_increase". It will only work in Elite mode and it will allow demons to spot you from greater distances.

If you still can't find the last one then it's most likely it just didn't fit in the map. Simply go to another map and then return back in a couple of minutes or take a little break. Going back to the main menu will reset your quest's progress.

Which monsters are starring in edited quests? I don't mind killing 1000 zombies but I can't imagine hunting 1000 blade slayers, rift coils or other similary friendly creatures.

Well, there's this one quest that makes you kill Ravager Mastadons and the other one features Orbiles. Also Tormentors.

Orbiles.. My marksman is close to death when taking fire from 3 of them at a time. I guess 50 at the same time won't make a difference.
And mastodons? They have a lot of health and it's a bit hard to dodge their massive flying bodies. Will I see the sky again? They'll probably cover the horizon.
I also like the idea of combined aura of 20-30 tormentors.

I managed to beat/survive 500 Ravagers Mastodon on NM elite. Took me an hour and a half.

They were 47 while my gardian was 43.

Am I good? I used a total of 2 hp pots, and around 100 mana pots.

But, they're only zombies.  :)  Where's the challenge in that :?:  Well, besides wondering if the game will crash with that many creatures on one map.

Thanks for the great mod, its just so fun to be owned by Zombies at lower levels, cant wait to be killed against hundreds of orbiles and tormentors in later levels, but seriously thank you for this mod.

Edit: Is there a easy way to make those quest repeatable?
