HG Revival has plans for a server? :D HG REVIVAL + MODS ONLINE hell yeah id give u some buks...

The problems start when they go public or start charging (or even accept donations).

If there are any files of features or textures, etc, that are owned by HGG people they WILL likely sue - it's how these game companies work, FFS!, nasty little buggers.

There was even one company, I forget who, that sued over a mod-mission pack that referred to game files and used them internally to generate new textures.
This mod would have increased their public awareness and likely sales - but they killed in a fit of pique,

Servers still online till midnight in New York at best guess. Bit quiet atm, going out with a whimper- a shame but I suppose Handjobsoft dont deserve any more. Goodbye HGG, long live Hellgate!!!!

Obviously the server is still up currently. Best guess: T3Fail just announced the end of their AWS subscription / lease period, and the hoster now may pull the plug anytime without warning. Not that surprising; seems they don't care enough to even properly shut down the game for good...

We had a nice little crowd gathered up for a "end of the world" party at Greenwich Ch2 around 05:00 UTC, which would have corresponded to midnight / start of 2016 in local server time (according to their website). With a peak of more than 30 players, the number of people there was the highest I've seen for a very long time. :)

Well, farewell HG:G. It was (kinda) fun while it lasted. Pity the game received so little love from Hanbit.

The servers are still up!
2:38pm (PST time) for me.
I agree, it almost felt as if people were coming back yesterday. All those players who haven't logged on in 2 or so years just standing there and talking in all chat. Also, it peaked over 60 players yesterday at the station at once. ;D

By searching thru the SteamDB site, Hellgate Global is not in the list.  Hanbitsoft has actually pulled it sometime back.  There is no search for the game on Steampowered's site either.  I figured way back when Hanbitsoft took over, the game was going downhill.  It's like most games like Hellgate Global, it wouldn't last more than a few years.  Lucky Hellgate Global lasted this long before the IP gets pulled.
