Gyroblade
« on: Apr 08, 2012; 03:45 PM »
Has anyone tried this skill out?

I'm not interested in the skill itself,I barely have enough points to make my drone into a meatshield.Or,well,metalshield.
I've noticed that my drone will at times spin it's Peg Leg around, with the animation of BMs' WW centered on it.Now that sounds like Gyroblade, but I don't really have the skill. Not from gear, and absolutely not from build.

Is that normal for high level drones (never had a lv50 one before lol),or has mine just glitched and recognized it had Gyroblade while it didn't?

My engi had gyroblade and that is what it looks like. I guess its a glitch you have, unless there is a ring or dye kit or special armor that has it. Or maybe the skill is hidden (unlisted on an item)?

Well my gear is standard crit pieces (SuE,Duellos etc) and my weapons on summon were random legends for the points in Master Engineer/Construct Drone. As for ring/dye kit,it's neither.

I'm leaning towards it being a glitch, but isn't the skill an activated one?
I mean, recognizing a skill it doesn't have is one thing, but activating it on it's own too?

I'll see if it happens again today, maybe I can get a screenshot or two.

Gyroblade is timed to go off periodically on its own, the more points in the skill the more frequent the spinning. So basically its passive.

Thats a weird glitch that only conjures impossible scenarios in my head of why that is happening. Its not necessarily a bad thing unless you really want your drone standing back in tactical mode.

For my build i wanted a pure meelee drone so i used a buzzsaw for the gun and a wurm's edge for the sword. Its not the most powerful build but i love hearing that saw go off and then watching it switch to gyro. Its  especially nice to know that my drone is almost always in front of me doing work, as opposed to hanging back appearing to do nothing.

Oh I didn't mind it at all, though sadly it appears to have been a one-time spectacle  :-[

Yours sounds like an interesting use of the toaster,I chose to stick to the standard Yahtel's/Peg Leg/Syd's Thorax so as to just give the mobs another target.Might've experimented more with it,but I'm too short on points to.

I will admit that I have little experience with Engineers. But I have a level 47 Engineer with a Drone fitted with Wart's Leg. Every now and again the thing goes mad and starts spinning like a top. Maybe I have a piece of gear with the skill on it? Or is it something else?

If it always happens I'd say so,perhaps you get it through a summon weapon?
If you're using a weapon set for buffing the drone, that is.

I checked mine and apparently it's not the case, plus I haven't noticed any spinning since.  :'(

Oops,it did it again.
So apparently it's either a common glitch or just natural drone behavior to spin their peg leg round, right round. Those metal party animals  ;D

Yeah Bryan, my drone does that as well ... as mentioned above, from the time I put on wart's peg leg.  It seems to happen randomly and when it does happen, the drone is within melee range of an enemy.

That's also seen in Vanilla Hellgate actually.

That's actually the animation for the Drone "swinging" its Weapon. It's buggy and as noticed it doesn't play very often...

The Gyroblade Skill actually is a whirlwind from the Blademaster Tree per say. It just has a high Focus Cost.

In Hellgate London, The Drone actually did Spin around like a Top when you casted Gyroblade creating the same illussion as WW.

Gyroblade causes your Drone to rapidly attack any enemies within the sword's range during the cast 5 times. So yeah its Whirlwind + Sword of Justice in one Skill.
